The Company
Our client is a vertically integrated agricultural commodities business with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities on the east coast of Australia, sourcing domestically grown produce to create world class commodities. There is now a requirement for a Grain Site Supervisor to join the team in their Wagga Wagga facility located in the agricultural hub of the Riverina.
The Position
In this role you will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, supervising the day-to-day operations of the site and employees with a focus on ensuing the efficient and safe operations of the site. Assisting the Warehouse Manager, you will have a strong handle of the processes and functions including grain storage and quality compliance, with an ability to assume the responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager at various times during the year.
As the Grain Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the operations and supervision of the site bunkers and offsite grain storage throughout the year, including harvest receivals and product outturn post-harvest. During the non-harvest period, you will ensure that the maintenance and hygiene of the bunker is managed to a high standard, and you will complete product transfer operations as required.
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager you will assist in improving processes in line with the GM Operations, and assist in the duties of weighbridge, meal shed, seed sampling and oil bay roles as a backup when needed.
The Person
To be successful in this role you will have 5+ years’ experience in commodity storage roles, ideally in a grains environment and be a natural people leader. You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and demonstrate relevant knowledge in computer operations including competency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
You will have a Class C Driver’s License and experience in operating Telehandler, Loader and Bobcat with a strong understanding in the use of heavy vehicles and high-risk mobile plant and equipment. Desirable skills which would be favourable are experience with Grainsmart or certification in Grain fumigation.
