MH Premium Farms (MHPF) is a private landholder of Australian agricultural assets, operating 16 properties over 59,500 hectares in Eastern Australia Strategically located over several climatic regions the portfolio is comprised of prime lambs, wool and cattle, broadacre cropping of cereals and oilseeds and irrigated cotton and sugar.

The Position
The Business Analyst - Agriculture
is a full-time position reporting directly to the Commercial Manager but also interacting with the CEO, CFO and Financial Controller. You will be responsible providing accountability across the various farming enterprises and supporting operational and executive decision makers. You will deal with farming production challenges, and assist Farm Manager improve profitability. You play a vital role being the link between the finance and farm teams, extracting production context for financial analysis, performance and subsequent reporting.
The role based in Wagga Wagga
and works in a positive ‘can-do’ environment, where staff work collaboratively and interact constantly to achieve outcomes. A social team with purpose.
This approach will include the following (but not limited to):
- Be the conduit between the various farming enterprises, and MHPF to improve performance
- Research and strategy, writing commodity and livestock market reports, and industry research including reports for the Board.
- Financial modelling and investment analysis on business opportunities, including written investment proposals and assisting operational staff make decisions
- Financial and operational reporting which includes budgeting, CAPEX analysis, and consolidation of KPI’s and help build tools to improve efficiency
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following experience, skills and key attributes:
- Demonstrated business performance analysis and success in an agricultural environment, ideally 2-3+ years’ experience
- Relevant finance, commerce, accounting or similar qualifications
- Foundational data analysis skills in an agriculture
- Proven knowledge of Excel able to use formulas
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- High levels of professionalism and integrity with an enthusiastic can-do personality and a strong team focus
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and liaison skills able to relate to and communicate with farm operational staff
- A current driver’s license is required as travel may be required from time to time
